Who operates CHAPTER45?

Your journal stays on your device
The app stores the name you choose, focus preferences, language, daily actions, mood, energy and sleep ratings, notes, experiment dates and timer state locally. These wellness records are not sent to Codyssey or Firebase Analytics. There is no journal account or cloud synchronization. Local storage is protected by your device’s operating system; the app does not add a separate encryption layer.
Optional usage analytics
Only if you enable “Help improve CHAPTER45”, Google Analytics for Firebase receives app interactions such as setup completion, record-save actions, screen views, experiment starts, paywall views and purchase-flow outcomes. The Analytics SDK may also record purchase and subscription events, including the product identifier, product name and price, while analytics is enabled. It also processes app-instance identifiers, app version, device/OS information, interaction timestamps and approximate geographic information derived by Google. We never include names, focus choices, journal text or mood, sleep and energy values in analytics events. Advertising ID collection and advertising personalization are disabled. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
Consent and choices
Analytics is off by default. You can allow or withdraw it in Settings at any time without losing free or paid features. Withdrawal stops future analytics collection and resets the device’s Analytics identifier; it does not automatically delete events already held by Google. Contact us about access or deletion requests. Consent is the basis for optional analytics; service delivery and legitimate security needs are the bases for support and purchase processing, where those bases apply.
Purchases
Google Play processes payments and controls your payment information. Codyssey does not receive card details. The app uses Google Play Billing on your device to check completed purchases, acknowledge them and restore currently owned subscriptions. Purchase tokens are not sent to a Codyssey verification server or included in custom analytics events. We do not maintain a subscription customer database.
Support and website visits
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send, using Gmail. Please avoid sending sensitive health information. These pages use Firebase Hosting, which may process IP addresses and basic request logs to deliver and secure the site. The pages have no analytics scripts, advertising or contact form.
Retention and deletion
Local journal data remains until you remove it through your device’s app-storage controls or uninstall the app. Optional Analytics event data is retained for no longer than 14 months under the property’s retention settings; aggregated reports may remain longer. Support correspondence is kept only as needed to resolve the request, normally up to 12 months, unless a legal obligation requires longer. Google Play retains transaction records under its own policies. We do not keep a server copy of your journal.
Providers and international processing
We use Google services for Firebase, Analytics, Play billing and Gmail. Google may process data in the United States and other countries, using the safeguards described in its privacy and data-processing terms. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, obtain a copy, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data-protection authority. Adults and policy changes
CHAPTER45 is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us. We update this page when data practices change and will seek fresh consent when required.
